Our History

ACE Realty Company strives to provide excellent service and advice to its clients and their families. Hubert Watt was born and raised in Morven, N.C., a southern portion of Anson County. He was a successful farmer and operated a grocery store. In 1973, he decided to leave the grocery business and begin a career in real estate. While Mr. Watts only planned to “sell a house or two” and manage rental property for several investors, his business quickly expanded with Ace Realty Company becoming a well known source that people turned to when buying or selling property. Mr. Watts often commented “Always do what is right for your client. If you do, all the other pieces will fall into place.” That adage proved to be true, as his business continued to grow. Hubert Watts recruited son-in-law, Freddie Black, to join the family business. Freddie wanted to broaden the scope of services for the business. He added a new dimension to the company with General Contracting and began building primary and vacation homes, new additions and renovations. With even more growth, the family connection has continued as Mr. Watt’s daughter Lois and grandson, Ray, have joined the ACE Realty Company team.

The real estate business has changed dramatically over the years. No longer is a yard sign and a flyer by the driveway enough. The days of a two page contract are long gone.
